Maritime Spatial Solutions

The keel of Maritime Spatial Solutions was laid during the 2025 federal government shutdown, when Captain Amilynn Adams used the unexpected pause to deepen her study of the GIS Body of Knowledge in preparation for the Geospatial Information Systems Professional (GISP) examination. During that period, she recognized an opportunity to integrate her maritime and oceanographic experience with advanced spatial data engineering to deliver high-value technical services.

Maritime Spatial Solutions LLC was formally established on December 8, 2025. Captain Adams serves as Founder and Principal Analyst. The firm draws on more than two decades of sea time combined with deep technical roots in geospatial analysis and data systems development.

Captain Adams holds a United States Coast Guard–issued Merchant Mariner Credential endorsed for service as a Captain. Her operational understanding of vessel operations, waterways risk, and maritime commerce reflects a career that began with hands-on work as a deckhand and dockhand in Barnegat Light, New Jersey, and progressed through senior leadership roles at sea and ashore.

An oceanographer by training and a certified Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP No. 162458), Captain Adams focuses on translating complex maritime challenges into rigorous spatial analyses and defensible data products that support informed decision-making in technically demanding environments.
